Zhonghuan manufactures vacuum-brazed and laser-welded rescue and demolition diamond blades — the multi-material end of the category. In a fire/rescue entry or a demolition cut, you cannot stop to swap blades when concrete turns into rebar, then into structural steel or a cast-iron pipe. Our vacuum-brazed multi-material blades cut all of it with one blade: a single layer of diamond chemically bonded to the core in a vacuum furnace, very aggressive, with no segments to throw. The core is a no-shatter tensioned steel that dishes rather than fragments under shock load. This is a different class of tool from a single-material concrete disc.
What a Rescue or Demolition Blade Must Do
The job defines the blade. A rescue or demolition cut is unpredictable — the operator hits whatever is in the structure, often blind, under time pressure. The blade therefore has to do three things a normal blade does not: cut every material it meets (concrete, masonry, rebar, structural steel, cast and ductile iron, sheet metal); resist snagging when it transitions from concrete into steel; and fail safely — wearing or dishing, never shattering. Cutting life is secondary to those three. That is why the construction and the core matter more here than raw diamond count.
Vacuum-Brazed vs Laser-Welded — Which for Rescue
Vacuum-brazed is the classic rescue build: diamond is held by a braze alloy chemically bonded to the steel in a vacuum furnace, in a single continuous layer. It is the most aggressive true multi-material cut, handles steel and cast iron, and has no segments that could be lost. Laser-welded segmented blades cut longer in concrete-dominant structural demolition, but are less suited to heavy steel. We build both and spec to the dominant material: vacuum-brazed for fire/rescue and mixed-material demolition, laser-welded for concrete-and-rebar structural work.

The Steel Core Is the Safety Spec — No-Shatter
For an emergency or demolition blade, the steel core is the safety-critical part. We use a tensioned, heat-treated 1075 spring-steel core (HRC 38-42) that resists fragmentation under shock load, pinch, or off-axis force — it dishes or wears rather than shattering. Every core is tension-tested to run-out under 0.3mm at full diameter and stamped with a max RPM per EN 13236. For OEM lots we retain a destructive cross-section of the brazed or welded bond per lot. We run a witness cut across mixed material before volume.
