Premium Grit-Edge Blades for the Ferrous Exception
Standard diamond blades are concrete-and-stone tools and are not for free steel cutting — that is settled physics. But cast iron is the one ferrous material where diamond genuinely works, because it is carbon-saturated with free graphite and cuts cooler and more abrasively than steel. Zhonghuan builds the blade for it: vacuum-brazed and grit-edge diamond blades for gray and ductile cast iron. A single layer of diamond is chemically bonded to the steel rim in a vacuum furnace — aggressive, with no segments to throw — on the same construction family as our rescue and demolition blades. This is a grit edge, not the tall sintered segments of a concrete blade: a different tool, a different safety class, a different buyer.
The Foundry Job: Sprue, Gate & Riser Cut-Off
The classic use is the foundry deburring and cut-off line. After pouring, gray or ductile castings come out with sprues, gates, runners, and risers still attached; a circular blade trims those feeders flush at the root, and the part moves on to a grinding station for final deburring. The blade is a long-life consumable on an automated line, so the priorities are diameter stability, life, and clean dry running — not surface finish, which the downstream grinder handles. That is why a diamond grit blade replaces the resin abrasive cut-off wheel: it holds its diameter and outlasts the wheel many times over.

The Steel Core & the Brazed Bond — Built and Verified
The edge does the cutting, but the steel core carries the safety. We use a tensioned, heat-treated 1075 spring-steel core (HRC 38-42), tension-tested to run-out under 0.3mm at full diameter and stamped with a max RPM per EN 13236. The vacuum-brazed diamond layer is chemically bonded so no part of the edge can be thrown, and for OEM lots we retain a destructive cross-section of the brazed bond per lot. Every spec is proven with a witness cut on your casting material before volume — we cut gray or ductile iron, measure life and cut quality, and adjust grit and bond before we tool up.
