Thread Verification — What Buyers Should Require
1¼-7 UNC is an industry-fixed thread, but factories can ship out-of-tolerance bits that physically thread but seat incorrectly. The defense:
- Thread gauge ring — pre-shipment go/no-go check on the male thread.
- Shoulder height measurement — digital caliper at four points around the shank.
