Annular Cutter Manufacturer: The OEM Channel
An annular cutter cuts only the outer ring of a hole and ejects a solid slug, using roughly one-third the power and feed of a twist drill of the same diameter. That is why it is the default for steel fabrication, structural steelwork, rail, and on-site magnetic drilling — a 50mm hole that would stall a twist drill runs clean on a mag drill with an annular cutter.
As an OEM annular cutter supplier, Zhonghuan sources these cutters to your brand and specification through an audited partner-mill network: the same cutting-material grades, the same shank standards, and the same cutting depths the premium brands run, at OEM economics rather than branded retail markup. This page is for distributors, importers, and regional brand owners sourcing an annular cutter line.
The Three Grades We Supply
An annular cutter program is built on three cutting-material grades, each matched to a steel-hardness band. Choose the grade by the work, not by price:
| Grade | Holds edge to | Cuts | Choose when |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSS (M2) | ~540°C red-hardness | Mild & structural steel | The volume line; resharpenable, TiN-coated |
| M42 cobalt (8% Co) | ~600°C red-hardness | Stainless, duplex, high-tensile | HSS burns the edge on tough or work-hardening steel |
| TCT carbide | ~900°C (brazed WC teeth) | Hardened, abrasive, rail steel | High-feed production and 50/100mm deep cuts |
See the grade decision guide for which lines to stock, and the annular vs twist drill vs hole saw explainer for the geometry case.
Shank Standards: Weldon Is the Volume Default
The shank is a binary compatibility question — the wrong shank does not run slower, it does not mount. The Weldon shank (a plain cylindrical shank with two flats at 90 degrees, clamped by the mag drill's side set screws) is the global volume standard:
- 19.05mm (3/4") Weldon: the volume range, roughly Ø12-60mm. Fits the large majority of magnetic drills worldwide.
- 31.75mm (1-1/4") Weldon: large diameters above ~Ø60mm, where the bigger shank gives the set screws enough grip for the load.
- Proprietary systems on request: Nitto one-touch (Japanese Atra Ace fleets) and quick-change adapters, added only where there is documented machine-base demand.
The full compatibility matrix is in the shank-types guide.
How Our Spec Matches the Named Benchmarks
An OEM equivalent only matters if it matches the brand it replaces. We spec-match the named annular cutter benchmarks on the four things that decide the cut:
Same Material Grades
M2 HSS, 8% cobalt M42, and brazed tungsten carbide — the same grades Hougen, Fein/Jancy Slugger, Euroboor, Nitto Kohki, and Karnasch run.
Same Shank Standard
Weldon 19.05mm and 31.75mm to spec, so the cutter drops into the same mag drills your customers already run.
Same Cutting Depths
25 / 50 / 100mm depth-of-cut with a matched pilot pin, so slug ejection and hole geometry behave like the benchmark.
Same Documentation
CE and ISO 9001, with material certificates and a witness-cut sample before mass production — the paperwork a serious buyer needs.
The message is parity in a different channel role: the same cutter, minus the brand markup, supplied as a private-label program rather than a branded retail line. For the full brand-by-brand survey, see Top Annular Cutter Manufacturers (2026).
OEM & Private-Label Program Structure
- Base line: Weldon 19.05mm HSS across the volume bolt-hole diameters, 25 / 50mm depths — the mover.
- Grade upsell: M42 cobalt and TCT carbide on the same Weldon shank for stainless and hardened-steel customers.
- Large diameter: Weldon 31.75mm for Ø60mm+ cutters and 100mm deep cuts.
- Accessories: pilot pins, arbors, and adapters as consumable lines; sets and cases for the trade counter.
- Private label: laser-engraved cutter bodies, printed color boxes, blister and set cases, and master-carton artwork.
How to Get an Annular Cutter OEM Quote
The fastest quote names the spec, not the price. Send the grade lines you want to stock (HSS / M42 cobalt / TCT), the diameter range and cutting depths, the shank size (3/4" or 1-1/4"), any benchmark brand you are matching, and your target annual volume. We respond with a spec sheet, a matched pilot-pin plan, packaging options, MOQ, lead time, and sample availability — contact us for pricing.
