Two PCD Systems: Handheld Edge Work and Planetary Floor Removal
PCD coating-removal tooling divides into two hardware families. Cup wheels run on handheld grinders for edges, corners, stairs and wall lines. Quick-change or bolt-on shoes run on planetary floor grinders for production removal across the slab. Both shear coatings, but their interfaces and load paths are different.

PCD Is for Coating Shear
Use PCD on epoxy, glue, resin, paint and mastic. Once bare concrete is exposed, change to an application-matched metal-bond grinding tool. Keeping PCD engaged after coating removal increases gouging risk and wastes the cutter edge.
Direction and Set Count Are First-Class Specs
Global machine manuals also treat one-direction PCD tools as a special setup. The RFQ must state clockwise/counter-clockwise rotation and tools per head. A visually correct shoe installed in the wrong direction is not an approved configuration.
