Asphalt Is an Abrasion Program
We supply asphalt and asphalt-over-concrete blade programs for road saws, floor saws and rental-fleet channels. The engineering problem is abrasive wear: sand, fines and slurry can remove the matrix quickly and attack the steel core below the segment. Matrix direction, undercut protection, kerf and machine power must be approved together.
Early-entry green concrete is not folded into this default program. It uses a separate saw/interface, cutting window, up-cut action and anti-ravelling skid plate. See the Early-Entry system guide and the dedicated blade + skid plate OEM program.
Configuration by Road Build-Up
| Job | Confirm | Engineering focus |
|---|---|---|
| Asphalt only | Sand abrasion, thickness, linear metres | Matrix retention and core protection |
| Asphalt over concrete | Both layers and depth through each | Balanced wear across changing substrate |
| Road repair / mixed patch | Patch composition, debris and dry/wet mode | Durability under variable feed |
Undercut Protection
Abrasive debris attacks the steel core just below each segment. Approved drop-segment or insert geometry places wear-resistant material in that zone so the core is not exposed first. The exact geometry belongs on the signed SKU drawing; a catalogue word such as "undercut" is not enough.
Machine and Sample Approval
Send the saw model and power, blade diameter, kerf, arbor/drive layout, approved maximum RPM and road build-up. We return a proposed matrix/segment direction and sample plan. Production begins after the buyer accepts fitment, straight tracking, wear behaviour and edge condition in the target job.
Low-Friction RFQ
- Saw make/model and power.
- Blade diameter, kerf and interface.
- Asphalt only, asphalt over concrete or mixed repair.
- Layer thickness and expected linear metres.
- Dry/wet use, annual quantity and private-label requirement.
Build an Asphalt Blade Program
Send the saw, blade size, road build-up and annual volume. We return a machine- and abrasion-matched sample route.
