Which Husqvarna Core-Bit Range Are You Comparing?
Husqvarna Construction markets diamond core bits under several range names. Its B1410 Z-EDGE page uses ELITE-DRILL, while the B1420 page uses Professional. They should not be presented as one identical ELITE-DRILL flagship family. The current US category catalogue also includes newer ELITE-DRILL D-series SKUs.
Start the purchase comparison with the exact product number, market, diameter, thread, core length, substrate and drill motor. Those facts determine the meaningful OEM benchmark.
Brand, Product and Factory Origin
Husqvarna Construction is responsible for the branded range and its published specifications. A brand's heritage or the location of a machine factory does not identify the plant that made every core-bit SKU. Where origin matters to the tender or importer, match the supplied bit's marking and lot documents.
Our comparison concerns construction and application, not an assumption that all B-series crowns share one source or one segment design.
ELITE-DRILL B1410 and Professional B1420
Husqvarna lists B1410 Z-EDGE as ELITE-DRILL for demanding cured and reinforced concrete. It lists B1420 in the Professional range in markets such as Canada; the US also shows B1420 Crown Bit variants. Published diameters and connection threads vary by SKU. The B1410 and B1420 labels alone do not specify a universal segment height or a single 1¼-7 connection.
Older names such as B1425 and B1430 can appear in historical channel material. Confirm the current product sheet and article number before assigning them a present-day tier, segment depth or service-life claim.
How to Read Segment-Layer Dimensions
A total segment height, diamond-bearing depth and non-diamond backing layer are three different measurements. If an approved drawing states .400 inch total, .300 inch diamond layer and .100 inch backing, those figures describe that drawing; they do not establish a current B1410 or B1420 specification without a SKU-specific document.
For OEM quoting, state the required diamond-bearing layer separately from total height, segment count, bond hardness range and weld method. Measure a reference sample and retain the approved drawing and witness-drilling criteria.
Match the Bit to the DM or DMS Drill
Husqvarna's product pages list the compatible drill motors and stands for each variant. Check the DM or DMS model, spindle, bit thread, approved diameter, wet operating mode and mounting method together. A 5/8-11 variant is not automatically interchangeable with a 1¼-7 variant.
Keep Hilti BI+/BL interfaces separate from Husqvarna's listed threaded variants. Use an adapter only where the machine and bit manufacturers approve that combination.
Brand Reference and Measurable Specification
The range name contributes brand recognition; the engineering comparison depends on the measured segment, diamond layer, bond, tube, joint and thread. Public product pages identify optimal materials but may not publish every manufacturing dimension.
For a distributor, compare purchase price and service obligations only after sample performance, inventory and warranty terms are specified. A fixed percentage margin advantage cannot be inferred from the brand alone.
A Documented OEM Alternative

The RFQ records diameter, working length, thread, segment count and geometry, diamond-bearing depth, bond direction for the target concrete, joining method, tube specification and packaging. The approved sample is drilled on the actual substrate and machine.
We agree acceptance limits for cutting rate, wear, hole quality and connection fit before production. A B1410 or B1420 name is a starting reference, not an automatic equivalence claim.
