ZHMAX Product Series

Choose ZHMAX-5X for high-volume general construction. Step up to ZHMAX-7 when reinforced concrete, deep holes, drilling speed and hole output lead the buying decision.

ZHMAX-5X

ZHMAX-5X

Proven 4-cutter carbide geometry for fast, dependable drilling in concrete, masonry and stone. Built for high-volume general construction and distributor programs, with a balanced YG8C head and four-flute debris removal.

Diameter: Ø12-25mmØ1/2" - Ø1" Length: 200-600mm7-7/8" - 23-5/8"
Proven 4-cutter platform Fast everyday concrete drilling General concrete
ZHMAX-7

ZHMAX-7

Built for the highest drilling speed, longer working life than competing SDS-Max bits and more in-spec holes per bit. A full-width brazed carbide primary blade drives penetration; two inclined, axially set-back side inserts stabilize the bore and support gauge retention, while open head pockets move debris directly into the flutes.

Diameter: Ø16-45mmØ5/8" - Ø1-3/4" Length: 320-920mm12-5/8" - 36-1/4"
Highest drilling speed Longer working life than competitors Heavy reinforced concrete
ZHMAX-8

ZHMAX-8

Full-head solid carbide — the entire head is one solid piece of tungsten carbide, with no brazed tips and no braze joint to crack. It withstands rebar strikes and abrasive rock without chipping the head. One-piece carbide is a small-diameter construction by nature: it tops out near Ø25, so ZHMAX-8 runs Ø16–25 and the segmented ZHMAX-7 / 6-edge heads take over above it. Resistance-friction-welded to the body for maximum heat and impact resistance.

Full-head solid carbide Resistance-friction-welded tip Hard & reinforced concrete (≤Ø25)
ZHMAX-168

ZHMAX-168

Three-plate, 6-cutting-edge carbide head — six impact faces drive round, straight holes with low vibration through abrasive hard rock, the round-hole architecture small-scale mining needs for ø32 mm blast-hole cartridges. The 6-edge geometry class of the Diager Ultimax 168, on a heat-treated 42CrMo body with vacuum-brazed virgin carbide for deep mining lengths.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SDS-Plus and SDS-Max?

SDS-Max uses an 18mm shank vs 10mm for SDS-Plus, delivering 3-5x more impact energy. SDS-Max is designed for heavy-duty industrial applications with diameters Ø12-45mm.

What is a multi-blade SDS-Max drill bit?

Multi-blade is a marketplace term commonly used for 4-cutter or multi-cutter SDS-Max bits. ZHMAX-5X uses a conventional 4-cutter cross head, while ZHMAX-7 uses a multi-insert architecture with one full-width primary blade and two inclined side inserts.

What diameter and length range does SDS-Max cover?

Our SDS-Max series covers Ø12-45mm diameter with lengths from 200mm to 1200mm. We offer Standard, Professional, and Premium grades.

Can SDS-Max bits drill through rebar?

Yes, our Professional and Premium series feature reinforced carbide tips designed to handle rebar encounters in reinforced concrete applications.

What industries use SDS-Max drill bits?

SDS-Max is widely used in infrastructure construction, bridge engineering, tunnel boring, foundation work, and professional demolition projects.

Do you supply SDS-Max bits for OEM customers?

Yes, we provide full OEM/ODM services for SDS-Max products including custom specifications, branding, and bulk packaging for industrial distributors.

What is the difference between YG8C and YG11C carbide grades?

YG8C is the standard grade for general construction drilling, offering a good balance of hardness and impact resistance. YG11C is a premium industrial grade with higher cobalt content, providing 30-50% longer life and better thermal stability for continuous heavy-duty drilling in high-density reinforced concrete.

What are the recommended drilling techniques and RPM for SDS-Max bits?

SDS-Max bits require high impact energy but lower rotation speed than smaller bits.

Recommended RPM values:
• Ø12-18mm: 350-450 RPM
• Ø20-32mm: 250-350 RPM
• Ø35-45mm: 150-250 RPM

Technique tips: (1) Let the machine do the work - do not apply excessive feed pressure, (2) Clean the hole frequently by pulling the bit slightly back, (3) Stop immediately if you hit solid steel rebar to prevent tip overheating (unless using Premium series).
