Application Scenarios

1. Anchor Bolt Installation

Material: Reinforced concrete, plain concrete, masonry

Recommended: Standard 2-cutter for plain concrete; ZHPLUS-5X 4-cutter SDS-Plus bit for reinforced concrete, 6–20 mm

Notes: Match drill diameter and depth to the anchor manufacturer's data, then clean the hole by the specified method. The ZHPLUS-5X anti-jamming carbide cross head and four-flute spiral support precise hole geometry, stable hole tracking and fast concrete dust evacuation; validate cost per hole with a controlled batch test instead of assuming a fixed life multiplier.

2. MEP Core Drilling Through RC Slab

Material: Reinforced concrete slab, 150–300 mm thick

Recommended: Diamond core drill, 50–150 mm diameter

Notes: Wet drilling is essential for core diameters above 50 mm — it extends segment life by 5–10x and controls silica dust. Use a rig-mounted drill for vertical and overhead coring. Scan for rebar and post-tension cables before coring. For universal segments (concrete + rebar), reduce feed pressure when cutting through reinforcement.

3. Concrete Removal and Demolition

Material: Concrete walls, slabs, foundations

Recommended: SDS-Max pointed chisel for breaking; flat chisel (50–80 mm) for surface removal

Notes: Use a 5–12 kg class SDS-Max demolition hammer. Start with pointed chisel to break the bulk, then switch to flat chisel for cleaning. For controlled demolition near rebar to be preserved, reduce impact energy and use a flat chisel at shallow angle. Channel chisels create pipe and cable grooves efficiently.

4. Expansion Joint Cutting

Material: Cured concrete slab, concrete pavement

Recommended: Diamond saw blade, 300–400 mm, segmented rim

Notes: Cut joints within 6–18 hours of concrete placement to control cracking. Joint depth should be 25–33% of slab thickness. Use a walk-behind concrete saw for straight, consistent cuts. Segmented rim blades clear debris faster and run cooler in abrasive concrete.

5. Rebar Exposure for Structural Repair

Material: Deteriorated reinforced concrete

Recommended: SDS-Max flat chisel (25–40 mm) + diamond blade for saw cuts

Notes: Score cut lines with a diamond blade first to create clean edges. Then use a flat chisel to remove concrete to rebar depth. Avoid damaging the rebar — use controlled impact energy and work at a 30–45 degree angle to the surface. Clean exposed rebar before applying repair mortar.

Selection Guide

  1. Hole diameter: Up to 25 mm = SDS-Plus. 12–52 mm deep holes = SDS-Max. Above 25 mm clean holes = diamond core drill.
  2. Hole depth: Up to 600 mm = standard length SDS-Plus/Max. Over 600 mm = SDS-Max extension bits or segmented diamond core barrels.
  3. Rebar presence: No rebar = standard 2-cutter. Incidental contact risk = ZHPLUS-5X 4-cutter SDS-Plus. Intentional reinforcement cutting = approved rebar cutter, full-carbide system or diamond core with universal segments.
  4. Task type: Drilling = SDS bits or diamond core. Demolition = SDS-Max chisels. Cutting = diamond blades.
