Dense concrete asks more of a drill bit than a sharp-looking tip. The head must establish the hole, keep breaking material at the face and pass the fragments into the flute. Zhonghuan 5S brings these jobs together in a penetration-focused design: four carbide working edges around a precise centering point, a deep helix and an SDS machine interface. The buyer benefit is a more purposeful drilling system for demanding concrete work.
What makes the 5-Crusher head different?
The five-point pattern is the center plus four surrounding carbide working edges. The center gives the bit a defined starting point; the surrounding edges engage the drilling face around it. As the hammer delivers repeated impacts and rotation advances the head, this arrangement is designed to combine positive entry with effective material breakdown.
That is the commercial strength of 5S: a clearly defined, penetration-led architecture that can be specified and demonstrated. Four carbide edges describe the working geometry; the material grade, head construction and joining specification are selected for the actual diameter and machine program.

A good hole starts before the first millimetre of depth
On a marked fixing position, initial wandering costs time and can spoil the hole mouth. The prominent centering geometry provides a focused first contact so the surrounding cutting edges can establish their path. Stable machine positioning and appropriate feed complete the setup.
The four working edges distribute cutting contact around the head. Their finished geometry, symmetry and gauge matter to drilling direction and hole quality. Our 5S program treats centering and the surrounding cutting profile as one head specification.
The helix keeps the head working
Breaking concrete creates fragments and fine dust. If these accumulate around the head, the bit spends more of the drilling cycle moving and reworking material already broken. Friction and heat rise while useful progress slows.
The 5S deep-flute layout gives cuttings a route from the drilling face into the helix. Open transfer at the head and continuity along the flute support faster clearing and smoother drilling. This becomes particularly relevant as the hole deepens and the evacuation path gets longer.
SDS-Plus and SDS-Max: the same design intent, matched to different machines
ZHPLUS-5S is the SDS-Plus version; ZHMAX-5S is the SDS-Max version. We match the working head, body section, length and shank to the chosen diameter and hammer class. A robust body carries the impact while the flute provides the space needed for cuttings.
The supplied 5S family sheet shows SDS-Plus Ø5–32 mm and SDS-Max Ø12–52 mm. Tell us the diameter and working length you need; we confirm the corresponding production configuration and machine fit in the quotation.

Where 5S earns its place
Prioritize 5S when penetration in dense concrete is central to the job. For reinforced concrete, consider the aggregate and expected steel contact together with the head configuration. Where reinforcement must be crossed deliberately, the project-approved drilling method governs the final tool choice.
Concrete, masonry and natural stone appear in our 5S application range, but they impose different loads. Soft masonry does not demand the same setup as hard aggregate or abrasive stone. We select the carbide, body and working dimensions around the substrate and hammer rather than offering one unchanged specification for every job.
Match 5S to the drilling condition
| Application | Buyer priority | Our matching focus |
|---|---|---|
| Dense concrete | Penetration and dust clearance | 5S head, flute and diameter matched together |
| Reinforced concrete | Aggregate and expected steel contact | Machine-matched head configuration |
| Masonry | Entry and hole-edge quality | Appropriate diameter, feed and machine setup |
| Natural stone | Hardness, abrasiveness and evacuation | Carbide and working length matched to the stone |
Turn the geometry into a strong professional product line
For an importer or private-label brand, 5S offers three concrete selling points: accurate starting geometry, a penetration-focused carbide head and a deep evacuation helix. They are visible construction features that your team can explain, photograph and compare in a sample trial.
We can place 5S beside your current drill or a same-size 5X on the same hammer and substrate. Compare time to the required depth, finished diameter, head wear and usable holes. Those results define the product position for your market and help turn a promising sample into a repeatable supply specification.
Bring us the job; we match the 5S program
Send the substrate, hammer model, diameter × working length and quantity. Zhonghuan will match ZHPLUS-5S or ZHMAX-5S, select the construction details and prepare a sample and OEM quotation. Laser marking, packaging and size assortments can then follow the approved product configuration.
5S is built around a simple purpose: start accurately, break demanding material efficiently and keep the drilling face clear. That is how a recognizable head design becomes a useful professional concrete-drilling product.
